Obituary of Emil A. Boutin

Emil A. Boutin, age 82, of Fairgrounds Road, Brooklyn, died Wednesday surrounded by his family at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Walt rude (Dupre) Foisey-Boutin; they were married January 9, 1987. He was born September 28, 1922 in Thompson, son of the late Alfred and Dorella (Rondeau) Boutin. Emil was a well know Car Salesman in the area for over 50 years, working for Cormier Larrrow Chrysler, 22 years, Gomes Chrysler, five years, Mathew Ford, 22 years and Disch Chrysler. He also worked for the Grosvenordale Co., Lawrence Blanket Mill, Belding Hemmingway Die House, Jules Home Supply, Prefab Built Homes. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Mens and Womens Basketball. He was a well known Square Dance caller for over 40 years, and he liked to play solitaire. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of 16 years of the Pomfret Democratic Town Committee and had served as chairman. He leaves in addition to his wife two daughters: Sandra Poirier and her friend Chuck of Hereford, PA; Pamela Romanella and her friend Mike of Westerly, RI; a son: James Boutin and his friend Aurora of Westerly; 7 grandchildren: Scott; ELisa; Kaitlyn; Nicklaus; Brianna: Alexis; Carrie; 2 great-grandchildren: Eva; Gaige; his former wife: Louise Richard, nine step-children; eleven step-grandchildren; a step- great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by two grandchildren: Brian; Brennan; his siblings: Raymond Boutin; Roland Boutin; Pearl Gaucher; Jean Drouin. The Funeral will be Saturday at 10:15 AM from the Smith and Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of LaSalette Church, Route 6, Brooklyn. Burial in ST Joseph Cemetery, North Grosvenordale. Call hours Friday 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
