Obituary of Rita Veltheim
Rita Veltheim, age 79 of Vandale Street, Putnam. Died Monday May 2, 2005 at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was the wife of the late Arthur Ted Veltheim, he died in 1986. She was born January 15, 1926 in Putnam, daughter of the late Arthur and Delora (Marion) Jolicoeur.
Rita worked for thirty years at the former Hale Manufacturing Company in Putnam. She had made her home in Putnam all her life, a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam. For many years she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the League of Catholic Women. She also was a member of the Putnam Senior Citizens and the Ladies auxillary of the VFW Post 1523. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She leaves her son Alfred Veltheim and his wife Lila of Putnam, Grandchildren: Sergeant USMC Shawn Veltheim of Okinawa; Andrew Veltheim of Putnam; a brother: Raymond Jolicoeur of Putnam; three sisters: Clair Sarette of Putnam; Muriel Denomme of Norwich; Jeanne Denome of Ocala, FL and Putnam; several nieces amd nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Richard Jolicoeur.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday at 10:30 AM in ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. No calling hours. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith & Walker Funeral Home, Putnam. To share a memory with the family, Light a Candle at www.smithandwalkerfh.com
