Obituary of Ellen M. Burton
Ellen M. Burton, 76 of Central Street, North Grosvenordale, died Sunday morning at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Ernest N. Burton, he died in 1972. She was born May 21, 1928 in Thompson, daughter of the late Albert and Clara (Bromley) Bushey.
She had made her home in North Grosvenordale for over 26 years. She was an avid NASCAR fan, her favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Kurt Bush. She also had a great talent for knitting and crocheting.
She leaves a son Gary Burton of North Grosvenordale, with whom she made her home, a daughter: Jeanne Surozenski and her husband Gary of West Thompson; two brothers: Albert Bushey of Thompson; Francis Bushey of Pomfret; a grandson: Ronnie LaBonte of Plainfield; several nieces and nephews; She was predeceased by her siblings: Clarence Bushey; Arthur Bushey; Bernard Bushey and Phyllis Rawson.
The Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Smith & Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam. To share a memory with the family, Light a Candle at www.smithandwalkerfh.com.
