Jeannette P. Davis, 62 of Ference Road, Ashford, formerly of Putnam, died unexpectedly Tuesday, afternoon, June 7, 2005,at home. She was the beloved wife of George E. Davis, Jr., they were married in 1961. She was born in Putnam, Sept 1, 1942, daughter of the late Henry and Theresa (Desrosiers) Picard. She was employed as a switch board operator at Loos & Company in Pomfret for the last eight years. She had worked as a secretary at the Salvation Armys ConnRI Lodge in Ashford for over ten years. She has made her home in Ashford for the last forty years, spending her youth in Putnam; she attended ST Mary School and was a graduate of the Putnam Catholic Academy in 1960. She enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the pride of her life. She leaves in addition to her husband: two daughters: Christine Guile and her husband Bob of Cheshire; Lisa Whiteway and her husband Phil of Ellington; her grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie; Brian: Jamie; Kyle; Margaret; Katelynn. A memorial mass will be Saturday June 11th at 10:30 AM at ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam. In Lieu of flowers donations in her memory to the Ashford Volunteer Fire Department PO Box 1, Ashford, CT 06278. Smith & Walker Funeral Home is directing the arrangements.
