Obituary of Frances A. Pepin
Frances Pepin, 90 of Ballou Street, Putnam, died Tuesday at the Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was the wife of the late Andrew H. Pepin, who she met at the Auckland Hospital, they were married November 4, 1944. He died in 1970. She was born July 23, 1914 in Auckland, New Zealand, daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Enright) Nation.
She had worked as a ward clerk at Day Kimball Hospital and also worked as a dietary aid at the Matulaitis Nursing Home. She had made her home in Putnam since 1959, a communicant of ST Mary Church of The Visitation.
Her hobbies included baking, knitting and gardening. Frances volunteered many hours at Daily Bread and ST Mary Church.
She leaves her children: Andrew John Pepin and his wife Anna of Quincy, IL; Robert P. Pepin and his wife Chyrisse of Quinebaug; David Charles Pepin of Portland, OR; Suzan M. Hansen of Elko, NVMary A. Gilbert and her husband Bernie of East Putnam; a sister: Marie Kelly of Auckland, New Zealand; nine grand children: Andrew; Theresa; David; Nicole; Robert; Shane; Dylan; Mathew and Sarah; eight great grand children: Christopher; Devon; Shane; Sophia; Derrick; Zachary; Nicholas and Morgan; several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jeannie in 2000 and a great grandson, Derrick in 1993.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam. No calling hours.
