Obituary of Paula S. Etchells
Paula S. Etchells, 45 of Sabin Street, died unexpectedly Saturday at her home. She was the beloved wife of Gary P. Etchells; they were married September 23, 1995 in Dickson County, Tennessee. She was born March 22, 1960 in Putnam, daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Bernier) Wallen.
She was part owner with her husband of Austins Seafood in Putnam. Paula had a huge love for animals and enjoyed cooking and traveling with her husband. She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital. She received an Associates Degree from Quinebaug Community College in Danielson.
She leaves in addition to her husband, two sons: Christopher Staplins; Eric Staplins, both of Pomfret; two brothers: Bruce Wallen; Niles Wallen of Putnam; her father and mother-in-law: Paul and Rita Etchells of Woodstock; a brother-in-law; Arthur Etchells of Putnam; two sisters-in-law: Shelley Etchells of Putnam; Karen Carrea of Virginia; a nephew: Caleb Carrea of Virginia; a niece: Erica Etchells of North Grosvenordale.
