Heath was the nicest person I knew. Everytime I saw him he was smiling and joking. He was a genuinely happy person and so much fun to be around. His laughter was contagious, he made everyone around him laugh and smile with him. I'll never forget the summer when Heath, Scott, Adam and Nick rented the house on Bungee Lake in Woodstock. All I remember is hearing those boys laughing and joking the whole time. That was a fun summer that we had with Heath.
To Heath's family, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I just wanted you to know that Heath was GREAT kid and will never be forgotten.

I would like to say to all Heath's Friends and family out there that I am so sorry for your loss, and thank you for being his friend. To you Heath, I can't imagine life without you, you were so much a hugh part of me that there is a huge gaping hole. I still can't believe that you won't walk through that door tonight and say hey whats up, I'll miss the talks we shared. Those massive bear hugs that you would give me in the kitchen, that almost crushed me. or the goodbye kiss or I love you mom whenever you left the house or we got off the phone. If one of us forgot to say it the other remembered. Heath I know your are happy in heaven, waiting for us to join you some day, wanting to tell us your ok and not to be sad. But I don't feel like I can handle this, I don't feel I should have to go through life without you, I don't want to. You were the best son a mom could ask for, a bit forgetful at time, when it came to feeding Wilson or mowing the lawn or cleaning your room and all who knew you knew you didn't do that often. I'm glad you and kari came on our last vacation to florida we really enjoyed it. I remember all 5 of us in one hotel room, and you doing impersonations of foriegn people at sea world. You had us all laughing so hard we were crying. That memory will stick with me. and the way you would stand real close to me and look down at me after you were taller and bigger than me of course, and say "oh yah,I can take you now." or the way you wore your hat always pulled to the side or that old grey sweatshirt, you shot with a gun while you were with mark I think, wore all the time and wouldn't let anyone throw it away I'm going to keep it. and that smelly blue work shirt. Heath don't worry about me God is in control. Heath I Love You so much and I'll be missing you till the day I see your face. I pray for that day. love you so very much more than words can say. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mead, Jr. posted a condolence
Heath was a great friend to our kids, and therefore part of our family, for many years growing up together in Quinebaug. We will always remember him stopping by the house, standing at the front door, his shoulders filling the doorframe, hat on a little crooked, big smile on his face. He'd always ask "Mr. Mead home?" as he never came or went without being sure to find and speak to both of us. His manners and kindness are remarkable, as is his humor. That humor could get the best of him, though, like the time a huge laugh came out of his mouth while a glass of iced tea was going in . . . we'd hand him a glass and cover our faces for years after that, and he took the teasing all in great fun. We are thankful that he shared a part of our lives and for the memories that might begin to fill the hole we feel at his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Barretts and Babineaus, Heath's family and friends. With love, Candy and Eddie Mead

I'd like to share a poem: "The Ship" I'm standing on the seashore. A ship spreads out her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean blue. She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck on a white cloud just where the sea and the sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "There! She's gone!" Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, She's gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices take up the glad shout, "There! She's coming!" And that is dying. Heath has been met by someone that has been waiting for him and he is rejoicing with the angels on heaven's side of the ocean. God Be With Your Family during your tragedy. In Christ's Love, Linda & Wally

Dear Heath,
My first memory of you is of a short little kid with a big head trying to keep cool in the summer heat with a garden hose. I had no idea that you would become my brother. Building snow forts, riding bikes, and fishing for sunfish. I can remember you begging my dad to cook the trout you caught...and how your face turned green after the first bite. Just put some ketchup on it. I'm so thankful for our time together and how you always made me laugh. There are too many times to list. I'm going to miss you, He-Man Heath (with the socks to his knees) If it's dinner time in heaven when I see you next, save the seat next to you for me.

John McCommas posted a condolence
There is part of me that says that its irrational for me to feel such profound sorrow for a person whom I really only knew for a single day. I worked with Heath on one of our inventory days this summer at Brooks Distribution. We worked together for most of that day. I found him a pleasure to work with --, as did everyone else at Brooks. He was so friendly, easy-going, very happy and just plain nice. I will bet he was a lot of fun to be around outside work too. I am certain we could have become the very best of friends had circumstances allowed us to get to know each other better.
I could tell Heath was one of those people known as a special person. Any fool could.
A special person is someone that everyone admires and likes. There is some intangible quality to these rare people that is hard to describe. It’s just there. Heath was one of those. I am far from the only person to think so in reading the reaction of my fellow co-workers at Brooks Distribution of his passing as well as the lighted candles here. We took it pretty hard given that we didn’t know him very long. Heath’s long-time friends and family should know that Heath made quite an impression at Brooks. Those who raised him did it right and should be very proud of him. I should also note that those who didn’t know Heath at work looked very sorry they didn’t get to know him. They feel like they missed something and indeed they did.
All of this is not to suggest Heath was perfect, just special and irreplaceable. I find it impossible to believe I will go to work tomorrow and he will not be there in his usual work area.
I know this sounds bitter but if this had to happen at all; it should have happened to someone else. Someone else that lived more of life than Heath had such as myself. But there is no making sense of why some of us stay on this earth for full life while others get only a short visit. The only thing we can do is remember Heath the way he was and perhaps try to be a little more like him as we pass through our lives. Be as nice and friendly and happy and kind as you can the way Heath was.
And maybe when we too pass someday we shall be as well liked and missed as a one Mr. Heath Steven Babineau.

First, we would like to extend our deepest and heartfelt sympathies to Heath's family. Five years ago Heath entered our lives, and every day he brought his smiles, his laughter, and his sorrows. It is truly difficult to write this because he was and still is a big part of our family. We have been so blessed to have him in our lives. It is said that we are put on this Earth for a reason, and we know what his purpose was. Heath, for the short time we had with you, you became the son we never had. We will never forget the happiness you brought to our daughter and the fun times we had together. Your parents raised a very special son, and I know that they are as proud of you as we are. Gone are the smiles, the laughs, and the hugs, but they will never be forgotten. You can rest now, your job on Earth is complete. When it is time to see you again, I know that we will be in a place where peace and happiness reigns forever (and where there is an unlimited amount of ketchup!).

I just want to express my deepest sympathy for all of Heath's family and friends. During the past 5 years while Heath was dating my sister, Kari, Heath and I became "psuedo siblings". I will always cherish the memories of Heath at my parents house, playing poker and stealing all of my $$, being a groomsman in my wedding, and his genuine smile. :-) Though this time is hard, we must keep in mind that Heath is now with the Lord, in a better place. Our time in this world is short compared to the eternity he will have in Heaven. I pray that this will comfort you. Heath, I love you, may I see your smiling face again.

I would first like to convey my deepest sympathies to Heath's parents, brothers, sisters, and the rest of his family.
Despite the fact that I am considerably younger than Heath, he never let that deter our friendship.
No matter the situation, Heath was always there to cheer me, and everyone else, up. He was extremely easy to talk to and was always helping everyone he could.
Although most will remember Heath for his kindness, I will remember Heath most for his undeniable urge to always be laughing. Whenever I think about Heath, I will always recall the days and nights that were filled with laughter.
I hope that all of his family and friends can find solace in the fact that he is undoubtedly in a better place. Heath, I love you and always will.

Its so hard to come up with the right words to say at this time, any words for that matter.Knowing he is looking down on us
with a smile on his face,
is what everyone has to keep in mind.
We are glad that you are in a better place Heath,
But any one of us would give anything just to see you one last time with your hat not on straight, your arms around kari and hanging out with your boys. The memories of you will never fade. As we sat at Scotts house last night remembering you and coping there were pictures of you on the table... marc picked up one and it was the one where scott is kissing one check and kari is kissing the other and you had the biggest smile on your face.. and marc said that was heath at is best and with that, that is how i will always remember you.
