Obituary of Simone Bressette

Simone (OConnell) Bressette, 88 formerly of Putnam, died Wednesday at the Windham Community Hospital in Willimantic surrouned by her loving family. She had made her home at Douglas Manor in Windham for the last two years. She was predeceased by her third husband Leo J. Bressette, her second husband Andrew Nason and her first husband George David OConnell, they were married in 1937, he died in 1963. She was born January 27, 1917 in ST Beatrice, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Noe and Beatrice (LaPage) Jolly. She worked for over 35 years at Electro Motive in Willimantic as an Inspector, retiring in 1969. She was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church in Pomfret. She resided in Putnam most her life, living in Cavendish, VT for 27 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, horse racing, eating lobster and at the age of 86 she took her fist airplane ride. She leaves her children: Gloria Bernard of Brooklyn, Shirley Lynch of Woodstock, Beatrice Riley of Danielson, Evelyn Mathieu of Woodstock, Dianne Mayo of Killingly, Priscilla Midboe of Drayton, ND , Susan Smith of Norwich, Jane Dealncy of Griswold, Paul O'Connell of Danielson; her siblings Lucille; Armand; Omer; numerous Grandchildren and great Grandchildren and great great Grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church, Routes 169 & 44, Pomfret. Calling Hours Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made in her memory to Most Holy Trinity Church or The Douglas Manor Recreation Fund, 3 North Road, Windham, CT.
