Ed, There's not too many days between the times I think of you all these so, so many years later. Thanks for the Boy Scouts and all the camping trips. Thanks for being there 1 night every week for years no matter what the weather to hold our scout meetings. Thanks for the medal of merit and the trip to Philmont. Thanks for being the best darn scout leader in the world and for helping to mold me into the man I am today. I wish my children had the benefit of a leader like you to help me guide them into adulthood. May your soul rest in the peace and eternal bliss you so richly deserve.

Dear Joann and Curt,
As I reflect back; I recall the family gatherings. The late night after dinner pitch games, the stories your dad would tell of his childhood, of hunting and especially the one about moving a piano. Your dad shared his love, his knowledge and his life with so many. He will be missed but never forgotten by us all.

To my Uncle Ed:
For someone who shaped my life in the way you did when I was much younger, I did not do that great of a job keeping in touch with you and letting you know exactly how you affected me. For that, I am sorry.
You died September 25th, 2005 at 80. I was sad to hear. It got me thinking of all the things, the subtle ways in which you molded me as a young man in Boy Scouts. You gave me hope and meaning; the life skills that I carry with me today. You guided me to nearly becoming Eagle Scout. You taught me that everyone, no matter how great or small, can make a difference. And for all that, I thank you. You will be sorely missed.

The world was blessed by having a man of Ed's character and commitment to the youth of Pomfret. Ed was my scoutmaster for my eight years of scouting and one of my biggest supporters in reaching eagle scout. He bestowed upon us a greater appreciation for life, nature, a great sense of value, selfworth, and trust in all of his scouts and always had time for us. He was a true rolemodel and hero for us to follow. I will miss him deeply and never forget the lessons he taught which I use today as the scoutmaster of my own troop. I will also never forget the late night "pitch" games at all of our campouts.
