Obituary of Omer M. Bruneau
Omer M. Bruneau, 65 of R & R Park, Dayville, CT, formerly of Putnam, died Thursday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice (Lachance) Bruneau, they were married October 28, 1961 in Putnam. He was born August 28, 1940 in Webster, MA son of the late Omer H. and Irene (LaValley) Bruneau.
He was employed at the former Glass Container Company in Dayville, for 27 years as a mold operator. He retired in 1986 due to illness. He served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged. He had made his home in Dayville for the last six years, moving from Putnam, a communicant of St Mary Church of the Visitation. He was a paper carrier for many years for the Norwich Bulletin. He was a licensed Ham Radio Operator, a former president and member of the Tri-State Super Seven Club of Woodstock. He enjoyed oil painting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and always had time for his grandchildren.
He leaves in addition to his wife; his children: Armand Bruneau and his wife Tina of Dayville; Brenda Sadowski and her husband Steven of Bostwick, FL; Lisa Adams and her husband Mark of Putnam; eight grandchildren; a sister: Vivian Mayo of Grosvenordale; several nieces & nephews.
The Funeral will be Monday at 10:00 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home,148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling hours will be Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors.
