Obituary of Charles G. Rhault, Sr.

Charles G. Rhault, Sr. 81, of East Putnam Rd, Putnam, died, November 24, 2005, Thursday morning at the Day Kimball Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Gervasio) Rhault, they were married June 26, 1948. He was born December 28, 1923 in Arthabaska, Quebec, Canada, son of Mederic and Laura (Brunelle) Rhault.   

He worked as a foreman at the former Hale Manufacturing Company in Putnam for over twenty five years, retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of World War Two serving with the US Army. He had made his home in Putnam most of his life, a communicant of St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam, a member of the Putnam VFW #1523 and the American Legion Post 67, North Grosvenordale. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing the organ and always could tell a good joke.

He leaves in addition to his wife his five children: Julie Warren and her husband Donald of Putnam; Mary Lussier and her husband Kenneth of Thompson; Charles Rhault, Jr. of Putnam; Yvonne Cote and her husband Paul of North Grosvenordale; James Rhault and his wife Laura of Putnam; eight granddaughters and six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twelve siblings. Funeral will be Monday at 9:30 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling hours Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Putnam with Military Honors. Donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one's choice.
