Obituary of Edeas Donat Trahan

Edeas Donat Trahan, 87 of Gary School Road, Pomfret Center, died Friday morning at the Haven Heath Center in Danielson. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte (King) Trahan; they were married October 25, 1985. He was born April 26, 1918 in Brooklyn, son of the late Edeas and Delvina (Boulay) Trahan. He worked as a mechanic for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, Putnam Garage for over twenty five years, retiring in 1978.He had also worked at Putnam Sales and Service.He had made his home in the Danielson, Putnam and Pomfret areas most of his life. He was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church in Pomfret and served as a collector, also a member of the Putnam Elks Lodge #574. He enjoyed traveling and most of all working on and riding his motorcycles. He leaves in addition to his wife; his step children: Margaret Purdon of Putnam; Judith White of Moosup; Heidi Gregory and her husband Henry of Putnam: Jo-Anne Joslin and her husband Alan of Putnam; three brothers: Richard Trahan and his wife Charlotte of Woodstock Valley; Robert Trahan and his wife Lucille of Dayville: Paul Trahan and his wife Cecile of Brooklyn; four grandchildren: Robin Purdon; Jamie Purdon; Angela Stringer; Beth Joslin; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife: Pearl (Murray) Trahan and a brother: Roody Trahan. The Funeral will be Wednesday at 12:15 pm from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm in Most Holy Trinity Church, Route 44 & 169, Pomfret.
