Edmond C. Johnston, 91 of Woodstock, died Monday at the Harrington Hospital, Southbridge, MA. Husband of the late Mabel A. (Smith) Johnston. He was born November 9, 1914 in Old Forge, NY, son of the late John A. and Mary (Bernette) Johnston. He was a United States Mail Contractor for over 26 years. He was a member and former second chief of the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Company for over 50 years. He leaves two sons: Robert D. Johnston of Trumbull; Edmond J. Johnston, Sr. of Woodstock; sister: Pearl Smith of Poughquag, NY; grandchildren: Nena, Kerri, Scharri, Nikki, Erin, Edmond, Jr., Gregory; and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Pound Ridge Firehouse, 80 Westchester Ave & Scotts Corners, Pound Ridge, NY 10576.
