Obituary of William Arthur Perry

William Bill Perry, 65 of Route 169, PO Box 13, Woodstock, died Sunday at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was the beloved husband of Joan G. Guertin, they were married June 15, 1963. Bill was born September 7, 1940 in Putnam, son of the late Clarence and Bertha (Williams) Perry. He graduated from Harvard H. Ellis Technical School. Bill was a Lock Smith Supervisor at University of Connecticut at Storrs for over 30 years, retiring in 1995, he had also worked as a bagger at Stop & Shop and worked as a security guard for ten years at the former Kennedy Drive Kmart. Bill had made his home in Woodstock for over 38 years. He was a member the Senexet Grange #40 and had served as Steward, the Quinebaug Pomona Grange #2, the Connecticut State Grange and National Grange. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Woodstock, the Woodstock Agricultural Society and the Israel Putnam Lodge of Odd Fellows and served as Noble Grand. In addition to his wife he leaves his children: Thomas Perry and his fiance Deborah Smith of Woodstock; Tina Jordan and her husband Donald of Woodstock, brother: Frederick Perry and his wife Joan of Inverness, FL, granddaughters: Ashlee Labbay, Felicia Labbay both of Woodstock, Melissa Perry of Laconia, NH, and 5 nieces. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Senexet Grange Hall, Route 169, Woodstock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senexet Grange Memorial Fund, c/o Nancy Ebbs, 47 Sunset Hill Road, Thompson, CT 06277.
