Obituary of Linda M. Hardell
Linda M. Hardell, age 59, of Day Street, Brooklyn, formerly of Putnam, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at the Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam.She was born May 15, 1946 in Putnam, daughter of Marie Paris-Dumas Gaudreau of Putnam and the late Raymond Gaudreau.
She lived in Brooklyn for the last 8 years, spending most of her life in Putnam. She graduated from Putnam High School, class of 1963. She was a Home Health Aide, working private duty for many years. She also worked as a switch board operator at Day Kimball Hospital, and a secretary at American Optical, Southbridge, MA. She was a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation, and an active member of Parents Without Partners for many years.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister, and always had time for her grandsons sporting events. She had a great love for life, enjoyed traveling, knitting, and had many artistic qualities.
She leaves a son: Keith Hardell, daughter: Deborah Ethier and her husband, David, grandson: Alec Ethier, all of Brooklyn, sisters: Joan Kacerik and her husband, Stephen, Sandra Dery and her husband, Richard, all of Putnam, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 am at ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial in ST Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Diabetes Program of Day Kimball Hospital, P.O. Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
