Obituary of Henry H. Auger
Henry H. Auger, age 92, of Woodside St., Putnam, died Tuesday at Lanessa Health Care in Webster. He was the husband of the late Estelle (Jackson) Auger, she died in 1995. His first wife Mary Evelyn (Jette) Auger died in 1981.
He was born February 19, 1914 in Central Village, son of Oliver and Antonia (Therrien) Auger. Mr. Auger was a self employed Finish Carpenter, last working for the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Putnam. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. He was a resident of Putnam most of his life, a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation and a graduate of Ellis Trade School. He was a member of the Putnam VFW #1523 and the Putnam Grange. He enjoyed working in his yard, especially cutting grass, building puzzles and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
He leaves his daughters: Claudette Picard and husband David of Putnam; Michelle Lott and husband William of Woodstock; sister: Lydia Blain of Smithfield, RI; grandchildren: Rebecca Auger, of Danielson; Sarah Harriot of Pomfret; Aaron Theriault of Canton, CT; Senior Air Man Dale Toutant, USAF, daughter-in-law: Eileen Auger of Woodstock, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, George J. Auger in 2000.
The Funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 am from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wauregan with military honors.
