Obituary of Emile J. Credit

Emile J. Credit, 86, of Walnut Street, Putnam, died Monday in the Haven Health Care Center, Danielson. Beloved husband of Bernadette (Martel) Credit, they were married January 17, 1948. Born in Putnam, October 18, 1919, son of the late Frederick and Mary Ann (Lavallee) Credit. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army and served a year with the Civilan Conservation Corps. He worked as a Press Operator at US Button Shop in Putnam for 36 years. He was a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation, a life member of the Putnam VFW and American Legion. Emile enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping people, especially taking care of the elderly. In addition to his wife he leaves his siblings: Charles Credit of Cheshire; Rose Bushey; Theresa Langlois both of Putnam, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Lionel Credit; Cecile Lambert. The Funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 am from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial with military honors in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
