Obituary of David Navarro
David Navarro, age 86, of Hurry Hill Road, Putnam, died Tuesday, April 11, 2005 in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA. He was the husband of Cecelia (Kulbacki) Navarro, they were married in 1972.
He was born September 12, 1919 in Thompson, son of the late Saboto and Giovanna (Leo) Navarro. He made his home in Putnam for 32 years, a communicant of ST Anne Church. He was a Cement Finisher working for the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers for over 40 years. David was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army, a member of the Putnam VFW #1523, Putnam Elks Lodge #574, the American Legion Post 67, North Grosvenordale, and he organized many clambakes for the Valley Springs Sportsmens Club, Thompson, where he was a member. He enjoyed picking mushrooms.
In addition to his wife, Cecelia, he leaves his son: Norman Laprade and his wife Paula of Thompson, daughters: Linda Boulet and her husband Robert of Thompson, Tricia Kaliszewski and her husband Peter of Putnam, brothers: Raymond Navarro, Edward Navarro both of Pomfret, Angelo Navarro of Putnam, Daniel Navarro of Pompano Beach, FL, John Navarro of Dayville, sister: Lena Deotte of Putnam, grandchildren: Heather, Dean, Brian, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers: Joseph, Sal, Anthony, and Rocco.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at ST Anne Church, 227 Ballouville Road, Ballouville. Burial with military honors in ST Joseph Cemetery, North Grosvenordale. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to ST Anne Church, P.O. Box 125, Ballouville, CT 06233.
