Obituary of Clara M. Lyon

Clara Martha Lyon, 89, of Mantup Road, Putnam, died suddenly Monday. She was the wife of Rolfe Nelson Lyon, he died in 1981. Born August 10, 1916 in Oakham, MA, daughter of the late Weston Charles and Florence (Carroll) Barton. She attended the Colonial Baptist Church in Dayville, and attended the Brooklyn Senior Citizens. She had a great love for her family, her three cats; Lucky, Miss Gracie and Missy and enjoyed taking walks by herself or with her family. She leaves son; Winthrop Lyon and wife Marsha of Pomfret Center, daughter; Patricia Marquis and husband Henry of Putnam, siblings; Sylvia Bushey of Putnam, Neil Barton of Brooklyn, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Friday at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling Hour from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
