Obituary of Catherine Elizabeth Bates

Catherine Elizabeth Bates, 79, of Putnam, formerly of Brooklyn, died Tuesday June 13, 2006 in the Manchester Hospital, Manchester. She was the wife of the late Edwin D. Bates, he died in 1968. She was born December 2, 1926 in Putnam, a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence (Warren) Cordier. She had made her home in Putnam for most of her life. She was a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation. She worked at Empire Laundry in Putnam for over 10 years, and worked as a housekeeper for many families in the area. She leaves her son; Edwin K. Bates and his wife Mary Ann of Pomfret Center, three grandchildren; Nicholas Bates, Edwin R. Bates, and Abigail Bates. Funeral services were private.
