Obituary of Beatrice S. Danielson

Beatrice S. Danielson, 96 of Grosvenor Road, Pomfret Center, died Sunday at Webster Manor after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Danielson who died in 1980. Born April 21, 1910 in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Carlton & Georgietta (Brigham) Shaw. She attended Israel Putnam Grammar School and graduated from Putnam High School in 1928. She worked for SNET after graduation, then after marring Gilbert they moved to Hartford, returning to Pomfret Center later to make her home. She worked for the Ben Grosvenor Inn as a housekeeper and waitress. Soon after she was employed up until the time of her death by the Brian OBrien, Jr. family as a housekeeper and cook for over fifty years. She also worked for Tyrone Farm for over fifty years in the same capacity. She was an avid Red Sox Fan and a supporter of George Bush. She continued to drive and work part time until two months before her death. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a person who loved life and lived it to the fullest in the most humble way loving her family above all things. She is survived by her youngest son, Carl Danielson and his wife Ruth, of Thompson, her daughter-in-law, Jane Danielson of Pomfret, her sister, Florence Lonnie Streeter of Woodstock, grandchildren: Robert Gerardi and his wife Felecia of Ellington, Peter Gerardi and his wife Kathy from Brooklyn, Jo Ann Gerardi-Voccio and her husband Joe Voccio of Brooklyn, Anthony Gerardi and his wife Christine of Winter Garden, FL and Jeffrey Gerardi of Danielson. Eddie Danielson and his wife Darlene of Thompson, Holly Mead and her husband Richard Mead of Thompson and James Danielson from the Boston area. Deborah Maestaz and her husband Michael, Robin Zadziejko and her husband Daniel, her great grandchildren include: Timothy Gerardi, Andrew Gerardi, Scott Gerardi, Christopher Gerardi, Matthew Gerardi, Valerie Voccio, Marisa Voccio, Aaron Gerardi, Sean Gerardi, Gregory Gerardi, Courtney Merrick, Christopher Maestaz and Michael Maestaz, Jr., Maegan, Nakasha and Rachel. Zadziejko, Lauren Danielson, Morgan and Zachary Danielson and many, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first son, Gilbert Sonny Danielson, Jr. died in 1995, her daughter Mary Lou Gerardi died in 1997, two grandchildren, Carl Butch Danielson, Jr. and Paul Gerardi, her siblings Stanley Shaw, Clayton Shaw, Clarence Shaw, Walter Shaw, Emily Shaw, Lillian Shaw, Ruth Shaw, Phillip Shaw, Evelyn Sherman. Graveside Service September 23rd (Saturday) at 10:00 am in the Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam.
