Obituary of Enza Salvati
Enza Salvati of Rocky Hill Road, Woodstock, CT, formerly of Southbridge, MA, died Tuesday at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John W. Salvati, he died in 1976. They were married at the end of WWII in Italy and she came to the US in 1946. She was born January 28, 1927 in Naples, Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Carmela (Errico) Aprea.
She had made her home in Woodstock since 1986, moving from Southbridge. She worked in housekeeping at the Inn at Woodstock Hill, retiring in 2004. She was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed cooking, singing, and taking care of her family; she was a loving mother and always had time for her family and friends.
She leaves her children; Christine Benvenuti and her husband Philip of Auburn, MA; Ramona Bartoli and her husband James of Southbridge; Susanna Racine and her husband Gerald of Woodstock; John Salvati and his wife Diane of Winchendon, MA; Her loving grandchildren and spouses: Phil and Cheryl; Tony and Patti: Mike and Tracy: Christopher and Patty; Becky; Nikki: Kyle and Kathy: Melissa; Jenny; her great grandchildren; Brianna; Gina: Julia: P.J.; Marissa; Dominic: Matthew: Joey: Nicholas: Caroline. She also leaves three brothers and four sisters in Italy. She was predeceased by a daughter; Mary Louise Salvati in 1952.
A calling hour will be Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by an 11:30 Mass of Christian Burial in Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, CT.
