Obituary of Alex Nemeth
Alex Nemeth, 88, of Thompson, CT, died December 5, 2006 at home. Husband of the late Ardath (LeVeille) Nemeth, she died in 1999. He was born January 14, 1918 in Alpha, NJ, son of the late Daniel and Julia (Ihasz) Nemeth.
He made his home in Thompson since 1946. He was a mill wright working at the Anglo Fabric Mill in Webster, MA. He was a veteran of WWII Serving with the US Navy. Alex was an active member of the East Putnam Community Church in Putnam, CT, where he served as a deacon and helped with the maintenance of the church, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 67, the Cornerstone - Quinebaug Lodge AF & AM, the Thompson Hill Fire Department and was a former District Representative for the Boy Scouts of America.
He leaves his brothers, Julius Nemeth of Easton, PA, Charles Nemeth of Easton, PA, Frank Nemeth of Royal Oak, MI, a sister Blanche Lampp of Easton, PA, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Donald Nemeth, Arnold Nemeth.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11:00 am Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, Calling Hours Friday, 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home, burial in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the East Putnam Community Church, 250 E Putnam Rd, Putnam, CT 06260. Alex Nemeth, 88, of Brandy Hill Road, Thompson, died Tuesday December 5, 2006 at home. Husband of the late Ardath (Leveille) Nemeth, she died in 1999. He was born January 14, 1918 in Alph, NJ, son of the late Daniel and Julia (Ehase) Nemeth. He made his home in Thompson since 1946. He was a mill wright working at the Angle Fabric Mill in Webster, MA for 13 years, he retired in 1998. He was a veteran of WWII Serving with the US Navy and was honorably discharged February 9th 1946. Alex was an active member of the East Putnam Community Church in Putnam, where he served as a deacon and help with the maintenance of the church. Alex was a member of the American Legion Post in North Grosvenordale, a mason with the Cornerstone- Quinebaug Lodge AF & AM in Thompson, the Thompson Hill Fire Department and was a former District Representative for the Boy Scouts of America. He leaves his brothers, Julius Nemeth Easton, PA, Charles Nemeth, Easton, PA, Frank Nemeth, Royal Oaks, MI, a sister Blanche Lampp, Jacksonville, FL, predeceased by brothers, Donald Nemeth, Arnold Nemeth. Several Nieces and nephews.
