Obituary of Alex Nemeth

Alex Nemeth, 88, of Brandy Hill Road, Thompson, died Tuesday December 5, 2006 at home. Husband of the late Ardath (Leveille) Nemeth, she died in 1999. He was born January 14, 1918 in Alph, NJ, son of the late Daniel and Julia (Ehase) Nemeth. He made his home in Thompson since 1946. He was a mill wright working at the Angle Fabric Mill in Webster, MA for 13 years, he retired in 1998. He was a veteran of WWII Serving with the US Navy and was honorably discharged February 9th 1946. Alex was an active member of the East Putnam Community Church in Putnam, where he served as a deacon and help with the maintenance of the church. Alex was a member of the American Legion Post in North Grosvenordale, a mason with the Cornerstone- Quinebaug Lodge AF & AM in Thompson, the Thompson Hill Fire Department and was a former District Representative for the Boy Scouts of America. He leaves his brothers, Julius Nemeth Easton, PA, Charles Nemeth, Easton, PA, Frank Nemeth, Royal Oaks, MI, a sister Blanche Lampp, Jacksonville, FL, predeceased by brothers, Donald Nemeth, Arnold Nemeth. Several Nieces and nephews. Calling Hours Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, the Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home, burial in Munyan Cemetery, Putnam.
