Obituary of Kenneth W. Hiscock
Woodstock Kenneth W. Hiscock, 75, died on Tuesday with his family by his side at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was born on March 9, 1931 in Stafford Springs, son of the late Willis I. and Evelyn (Mattocks) Hiscock.
He was raised in Pomfret and spent his adult life as a resident of Woodstock. He proudly served his country in the Korean War and was an active member of the American Legion, Post 111, in Woodstock. He worked many years in the construction industry and retired from H.H. Ellis Technical School in 1989 after 25 years of service.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeanne (Larose) Hiscock, his son, Willis and his wife, Laura, of Shelton; his daughter Kathy Zuckerman and her husband, Scott, of Plainville; and his grandchildren David and Ethan Hiscock and Daniel and Emily Zuckerman. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lois (Hiscock) Sirrine and Flora (Hiscock) Mullen.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors at Union Cemetery in Union.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Day Kimball Hospital, Pastoral Care Services Program, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260 or to the American Heart Association, 2550 U.S. Highway One, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
