Obituary of Hazel A. Godin

Hazel Godin, age 82, formerly of Mill Street, Putnam, died Monday, February 19, 2007 at the Haven Healthcare of Danielson where she had resided for the last eight years. She was born April 17, 1924 in North Troy VT, daughter of the late Adelard and Emma (Bushey) Cote. She attended Peoples Academy in Morrisville, VT. She married Pierre Godin on June 25, 1945 at ST Mary Church in Putnam, he predeceased her in death in 2005. She had made her home in Putnam until an illness in 1999. She loved her indoor plants, birds and playing with her grandchildren. She was loved by the staff on wing one for her courage and tenacity, she was a three time cancer survivor and will be sadly missed by all. She leaves her children: Philip Godin of Putnam; Patricia Drouin and her husband Denis of Thompson; a brother Larry Cote of Quebec, Canada; grandchildren: Bonnie Gaudreau and husband Jason of Killingly; Heidi Davis and husband Christopher of Brooklyn; great grandchildren- Matthew and Madison Sheldon; Alyssa Lindell; Claudia and Rowan Davis; a step great granddaughter Shaina Gaudreau; Many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister: Mary Raynsford in 1996. Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial will be private.
