Obituary of George W. DeRosier
George W. DeRosier, age 91, of Putnam, died Friday morning at the Haven Health Care in Danielson. He was the beloved wife of Angeline (Varavallo) Jaworski DeRosier, they were married April 27, 1970. He was born November 14, 1915 in Dayville, son of the late Thomas and Gladys (Gay) DeRosier.
George worked as a Finish carpenter, working many years for Risom Furniture Company in North Grosvenordale in the specialty department. He also worked for Rosie Parent, Electric Boat in Groton. In 1939 he help rebuild the Church steeple on the Congregational Church in Danielson with R C Contractors, and the steeple on the Congregational Church in Woodstock, and worked on the Groton - New London Bridge. He was a graduate of the Putnam Trade School and has made his home in Putnam since 1943. He enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe with his wife Angeline.
He leave in addition to his wife Angeline, a step daughter: Patricia Sgueglia and her husband Robert of New Britain; a niece Lorraine Wisniewski of Canterbury; cousins: Theresa Shromer of Florida, Virginia of Providence, very close friends and care givers: Mathew and Karen During and family of Putnam. He was predeceased by his first wife Emelda (LaPointe) DeRosier in 1969. He will be greatly missed by all that knew George and loved him.
Funeral Service will be private. No calling hours. The Smith & Walker Funeral Home Putnam in charge of the arrangements.
