Obituary of Albert E. Heath, Sr.
Albert E. Heath, Sr., age 86, of Smith St, Putnam, died Wednesday March 21, 2007 at the Westview Nursing Center in Dayville. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Ellen (Summers) Heath, she died in 1991.
He was born April 24, 1920 in North Troy, Vermont, son of the late Albert J. and Ivah Mae (Sanville) Heath. He worked for over 25 years at the former Wycoff Steel in Putnam, retiring in 1985. He also worked as a farmer and a truck driver. He was a resident of Putnam most of his life, he was an HO Gauge Train enthusiast and collector for many years and enjoyed traveling with his wife. Albert served as treasurer of the Wycoff Union for several years.
He leaves his children: Philip Heath of Putnam; Albert Heath, Jr. of Brooklyn; Robert Heath of Putnam; Dorothy Vanasse of Putnam; Ethel May Heath of Central Village; Barbara Messier of Putnam; Beverly Benoit of Putnam; brothers: Raymond Heath of Pomfret, Rayburn Heath of Putnam; 25 grandchildren and several great & great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter: Martha Ritchie; a granddaughter: Grace Sliva; his siblings; Wilfred Heath, Allard Heath, Wayland Heath and Lestina Bocash.
A Memorial Service will be March 31st (Saturday) at 1:00 PM in the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial at a later date in Putnam Heights Cemetery, Putnam.
