Obituary of Marie Harding

Marie Harding, age 82 of Woodstock, CT, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at home. She was the wife of the late Donald Harding, he died in 2000. She was born May 22, 1925 in Warwick, RI, daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Roy) Kenahan. She worked as a manufacturers Representative for over thirty years. She had made her home in Woodstock since 1963. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano and guitar and her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie was a member of the Woodstock American Legion Post 111 and during world War II she performed with the USO. She leaves a son: Donald Harding, Jr and his wife Kathy of West Woodstock; a daughter: Susann Elliott and her husband Porter of Woodstock with whom she made her home, five siblings: Paul of Webster, MA; Robert, Bernard, David and Margaret all of RI. Five grandchildren: Derek, Scott, Ryan, Chris, Katrina, four great grandchildren: DJ; Kieran; Olivia; Tate, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings: Charles; James; Joseph and Thomas. A Memorial Service will be Saturday June 2nd at 10:00 AM in the East Woodstock Congregational Church, Woodstock Road, East Woodstock, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of NE CT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260. The Smith & Walker Funeral Home of Putnam is in charge of the arrangements.
