Armand LeBeau

Obituary of Armand J. LeBeau

Armand "Butch" LeBeau, Jr., 74, of South Woodstock died Friday afternoon at UMASS Hospital. He was born in Putnam on May 1, 1933, the son of the late Armand and Rita (Bellerose) LeBeau.

While Butch had many roles in life as a fine father, husband, brother, friend, and long term employee of Connecticut Light and Power, they do not define who he truly was as a human being. To all who knew and loved him, Butch was a man of unflagging integrity, sincerity, generosity, kindness, humor and heart. He was a man willing to work over 100 hours a week at three to four jobs for several years to provide for his ailing wife and three children while still lending a neighbor a hand. These things define who Butch was and for these things, he will be mourned, missed, and remembered. In 1952 Armand was married to the Lucille Rainey until her death in 1973. He was then married to Claire (Morrell) Crescenzo in 1982.

In addition to Claire, his survivors include three sons, Lawrence LeBeau of Killingly, Steven LeBeau of Pomfret, and Gerald LeBeau of Brooklyn; two grandchildren, John LeBeau and Aimee Owens of Killingly; three great grandchildren; sister Germaine Touchette of Putnam; and two brothers Robert LeBeau of Thompson and Richard LeBeau of Oceanside, CA.

The Funeral will be 10:30 AM Tuesday from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret. Calling Hour will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home, burial in ST Mary Cemetery, Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Westview Health Care Center, 150 Ware Road, Dayville, CT 06241.
