Obituary of Earl R. Willis

Earl R. Willis, 85, of Sterling Heights, MI formerly of Putnam, CT passed away October 16, 2018 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA. He was born January 28, 1933 in Putnam, CT, son of the late George F. and Estelle (Morin) Willis. Earl was the beloved husband of Charlotte R. (Reilly) Willis.

He enjoyed history, museums, antiques, cycling, football, NASCAR and any motor sport racing. Earl was an avid reader and also played the guitar. Earl worked for the Chrysler Corporation in the Financial Department.

He leaves his daughters Wendy K. Thompson and her husband Gary R. Thompson of Troy, MI and Robin S. Wieten and her husband Joseph G. Wieten of Oxford, MI; his grandchildren Christina Thompson of Troy, MI and Matthew Thompson of Troy, MI; his brother George Sherwood Willis of Deep River, CT and all his nieces.

A Calling Hour will be Friday, October 19, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. A Funeral Service will follow at the Funeral Home at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam, CT. Share a memory at smithandwalkerfh.com
