Olga Christina Kallgren Johnson
December 14, 1918 -January 14, 2013
WOODSTOCK - Olga Christina Kallgren Johnson, She was born in Woodstock, CT on December 14, 1918, daughter of K. Josef & Clara (Peterson) Kallgren. She married Axel Johnson on September 21, 1940 and they spent most of their life in Woodstock.
They moved to Covenant Village of Cromwell in 2009. A graduate of Woodstock Academy and the Franklin School of Science & Arts in Philadelphia, PA where she received the recognition of top graduating student she was employed as a Medical Technologist by the Hubbard Hospital in Webster MA and later by Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. She was a long time member of the Woodstock Evangelical Covenant Church where she served in the nursery, & on the Flower Committee and Building Committee.
She is survived by a son, Richard & his wife, Kristen, of Dunbarton, NH; a daughter Barbara Barnes and her husband Jay of Arden Hills, MN; six grandchildren and their spouses and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Axel, her husband of 70+ years, two brothers and one sister.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 3:00 PM in The Evangelical Covenant Church of Woodstock, 24 Child Hill Road, Woodstock, CT.
