Obituary of Dale E. Iverson

Dale E. Iverson, 64, of Schoolhouse Hill Road, Eastford, died unexpectedly Monday morning at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, beloved wife of Ronald C. Iverson, they were married March 2, 1962. Born October 9, 1942 in Putnam, daughter of the late Carl and Edith (Thornton) Shippee. She had made her home in the Eastford, Pomfret area all her life. She had worked as a caregiver to the handicapped and elderly with the Visiting Angels in Tolland for several years. She was a former member of the Assembly of God Church in Putnam, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, taught Adult Bible Study and served as church treasurer. She served in the US Airforce for two years, honorably discharged in 1962. She was the church secretary for several years at the First Baptist Church of Mansfield. In addition to her husband Ronald, she leaves her children: Michael Iverson of Thompson; Vicky Billington of Eastford; Carrie Iverson of Eastford; Bethany Bouchard of Enfield, sisters: Carol Molnar of Eastford; June Carbone of Willington; Linda Short of Shreveport, LA; Lorna Shelto of Scotland; Norma Quirk of Ashford, five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm.
