Obituary of Denny Varney

Denny Guy Varney, 76, passed away on November 25, 2018, in the solace of his home in Brooklyn, CT. Born August 18, 1942, in Hartford, Denny enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for three years with one tour to Vietnam. He then continued serving his communities in Newington and Hartford for 35 years as a postal service worker. A beloved father and humble, artistic man who revered wilderness and biodiversity, Denny is mourned by his adoring daughter, Lorna Valentine Varney, as well as extended family and friends, all of whom miss his thoughtful, gentle and compassionate ways. A service to honor Denny will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 2:30 p.m., at South Glastonbury Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Denny may be made to the Rivers Alliance of Connecticut.
