To the Family of Philip A. Godin, I was saddened by the passing of my special friend, Philip A. Godin. Please except my sincere sympathy in the loss of your love one. Philip had more friends then he may have ever known. I am from Rhode Island originally but moved to Putnam many years ago and had the pleasure of meeting Philip shortly there after. I and my family have known Philip well over 40 years and during this time he was always welcome into my home when he was in the area. I felt bad when he and his parents moved from Putnam to Pomfret and then Phil had to ride his bike to Putnam and then there were times if we met at PJ`s Donut Shop and he was about to go home I would put his bike in the back of my truck and give him a ride home. I have so many memories of Phil, like playing checkers and could never win a game with him because it would end up in a stalemate, a lose, lose situation everytime on my part. I could go on and on with stories of days gone by but now what I have to say is: May Philip Rest In Peace. God Speed, My Friend !!

We all have lost a very close and dear friend. We will remember Phil for his love for people and his friends and especially for his God Jehovah. He will not be forgotten.
As the book of John 5:28 says " Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life." At that time we will welcome back our dear friend Phil.

Phil was a Kind, Joyous, and gentle soul who made my
life better every time we met. I want to Thank the Arc of Quinebaug Valley for their wonderful care and supervision as Phil journeyed through life. The Arc also allowed him to be active and that was important to him.
Phil will be missed because he touched a lot of lives.
Pray for him and remember him when you want your spirits lifted as he always brightened my day !!

I grew up in Putnam. We both lived in the Putnam Housing Authority. He'd always be taking a walk somewhere. I remember as a kid I was always so enthusiastic to ask him about the time. It didn't matter whether he was coming or going he always knew the exact time give or take 5 minutes. What made it amazing for us is he'd look at his wrist then up at the sun. He never wore a watch back then. I have fond memories of him walking by and stopping to play catch or blow bubbles with myself and my neighbors. He was a truly great person and I will always remember him as the one adult that was never mean to me. Thank you Phil, you were a decidedly bright spot in my childhood.

I met Phil many years ago in the hospital. His bright smiling face made me feel happy that day. I saw him many more times in my many stays in the hospital. Also in town. He helped me holding doors open for me while I carried my heavy loads of laundry in to wash and then back out to my car. He was always friendly and smiling. Never a rude or cruel word from him did I hear. He will be sadly missed by many.
