I was also a member of the "Center Street gang" having moved there in 1946. Skip and I played Little League baseball in 1950 and 51 on of all teams the dreaded Red Sox. Buzz's post says it best, friendships and memories become everlasting. I will always cherish those wonderful days. Condolences to Ann, Gordie and extended family.

On behalf of the men and women of the NH State Police-Marine Patrol Unit, I wish to express our sincere condolences to Ann and all of "Skip's" family.
Skip served as a Marine Patrol Officer in New Hampshire and was the consummate professional. He was well liked by those he served with and was a true ambassador of boating safety. His love of the water made him the perfect fit for our agency.
We are all saddened by his passing and thank him for his service.
Skip, we wish you fair winds and following seas!

We knew Skip from his time here in New Hampshire. He and Dick were both newly minted NH Marine Patrol officers in 2000, and enjoyed their time together training and practicing arresting each other! Skip & Dick both enjoyed boating immensely, and spent many long hours reminiscing about their time on the water. Skip will be missed by all who knew him at NHMP.

When Skip arrived in Putnam in 1948, the neighborhood took on a new identity, The Mauer house and yard became the gathering place for the "Center Street gang". An upstairs room became the clubhouse and the grounds provided the opportunities for contests in baseball, football, basketball, track, and even offered a miniature golf course. Through later years these friendships continued and an occasional reunion brought the "gang" back together. A cruise on "The Lady" was one of those enjoyable outings. So many memories that unfortunately return at this most unfortunate time. Our heartfelt thoughts and sympathy go out to Ann and Gordie.
