Obituary of Laura Gay Krug
September 17, 1958 to December 12, 2019
DANIELSON – Laura G. Krug, 61, passed on in her home on December 12, 2019.
Laura leaves two children, Erin Rhault and Joshua Krug, and two grandchildren, Evan and Drew Rhault, two of her remaining five siblings, Lenard Cannon and Cathy Carlson and friends and loved ones. She cared deeply for her own family and for her mother late in life. She was very saddened by the loss of her mother and sisters. She loved them and their children as well.
Laura grew up on a farm in Middletown, CT, raised by her parents, sisters and brothers as she was the youngest of 6, and with the godly inspiration of Paul and Evelyn Olander. Laura loved to laugh and run and dance and play. Though her body was broken with disease late in life, her spirit was always childlike. She sought to see the good in others. She was soft, generous and kind. She expected her children to be kind, polite and thankful.
Laura’s love for God’s creation, indeed, made her a blessing. She entertained such pure joy at the New England winters and every season. She deeply cared for her pets, often house cats. She loved all creatures, large and small, wild animals, geese and ducks, all farm animals, wild cats and hummingbirds and butterflies and human beings. She loved the beauty of flowers and plants and trees. She loved to cook for others. She was, is and will be a wife and mother. Laura loved stained-glass windows. She enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble and other games with family and friends. She was crafty. She was a waitress and a caregiver and took great joy in holidays, celebrations, birthdays; and loved giving the best gifts to her children. She loved Christmastime most of all and family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
There will be an informal service for her at the Friends of Assisi Food Pantry on 77 Water Street, Danielson, CT. It will be held at noon, Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Anyone who knew her, and anyone who cares to pay their respects, is welcomed. Burial will be in the Spring, privately. If any donations are sought to be made on her behalf in anyway, they can be sent to Saint Jude Hospital or Catholic Charities. Share a memory at www.gagnonandcostellofh.com
