Obituary of Raymond L. Gauthier

Raymond L Gauthier, 85, formerly of Underwood Road, Putnam, died Wednesday in the Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam. He was the husband of the late Muriel B. (Lacus) Gauthier, they were married May 22, 1946, she died April 8, 1999. He was born June 23, 1922 in Killingly, CT, son of the late Sylvio and Justine (Pennel) Gauthier. He served as a private in the US Army, was honorably discharged, and served with the Merchant Marine during WWII. Raymond was the Service Manager at Danielson Ford for many years, he later worked in maintenance for the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Putnam and Woodstock. He was a communicant of Most Holy Trinity Church in Pomfret and a member of the Putnam Lodge of Elks. He leaves two brothers: Henry Gauthier of Brooklyn, Norman Gauthier of Louisville, KY, a sister-in-law; Doris Nash of Putnam; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers: Sylvio Gauthier, Jr.; Robert Gauthier and Paul Gauthier. Funeral Service will be Friday (Today) at 10:00 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in the Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret.
