Obituary of Ernest J. Levesque

Ernest J. Levesque, 71, of Long Meadow Farm, West Woodstock, CT, died on September 7, 2007 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. He was airlifted there from Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT after being injured from a fall at his residence while in the process of constructing a new barn. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Kywan) Levesque of 39 years, daughter Laura Albers and husband Brian of Louisville, CO., stepson Donald Aper and wife Bonnie of Columbia, Missouri, stepdaughter Lynn Sachman, granddaughter Diana both of Waterford Hearst, England, his sister Gloria L. Parsons of Springfield, MA., brother Leo J. of Willington, sister-in-law Helen Zawada of Windsor, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernest was the son of late Ernest J. and Agnes (Morin) Levesque, formerly of Willington. He was born in Stafford Springs, January 7, 1936, educated at St. Edward's Parochial School and Stafford High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Draft Horse Association, Waters Farm Preservation, Inc., Blue Slope Farm and other farm related organizations. He also served as Sexton for Barlow Cemetery in West Woodstock. "Ernie" will be remember as a hard worker, dedicated to his family and friends, loved his farm and was extremely proud of all the improvements he made on it. The Funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Church of the Good Shepherd Church 12 Bradford Corner Road, West Woodstock. Calling Hours Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial in Barlow Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to American Foundation for the Blind, 11 Penn Plaza, Suite 300, New York, NY 10001 or Charity of one`s choice.
