We have lost an honorable warrior. My father Romeo was not only a Patriot who loved his country but a faithful husband who loved his wife and cared for her until the last of her breaths. He is one of my hero's, some say heroes do things ordinary people do not do. But I have seen sacrifices for the love of country and family and indeed these people who care for others in their cities and town where they grew up, are extraordinary and we love them for it. That was Dad! He loved his work all of it, from his career at EB, and Fire Dept. duties and ALL our family's and especially the Garden!
As a Fire chiefs daughter, I remember him leaving the house at all hours after work, in the middle of the cold nights with the lights blaring on his car. His monitor was always on, always on duty/ 24/7. He's the guy who would help you out if you needed it. He loved all of us at home and cared for us even when things were hard. He calls his great grandchildren his 'lil ones" and he asked us to watch over them, and sent letters to them and gifts.
A generous loving man, and valued member of the community an amazing leader. Sharp as a tack till the last.
1st responders, ARE hero's in our book! Two of our sons also serve as Firemen, in Iraq, and here locally. We are proud to be the parents of such sons!.
We are grateful for all the Duval family and their children with all their families and their close friends as well. We loved what Donna Duval wrote about him " rest easy chief, we'll take it from here". He will not be forgotten by all of us who knew him. with all our hearts and love-Tim and Penny Tyler & family in North Idaho

Just to send my deepest condolences to the family. I was a driver for the VA and transported him. He was very nice man, and we'll miss him.
