Obituary of Irene Ohop

Irene Ohop, 96, of Danielson, CT, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Westview Healthcare in Dayville, CT. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin C. Ohop, they were married May 6, 1950 at St. James Church. She was born September 25, 1924 in Wauregan, CT, daughter of the late Michael and Anelia (Mahaj) Orszulak.
Irene was a Communicant of St. James Church Danielson where she taught CCD and enjoyed the parish Polkafest and giving her time at the St. James Bazaar. She also was a member of the daughters of Isabella. Irene worked for Arrow-Hart as an assembler for 41 years until it's closing. 
She leaves her son Edwin C. Ohop, II of Putnam, CT and his longtime partner Karen Ashlaw and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Czupryna, Dorothy Plantier, Evelyn Frechette and her brother Stanley Orszulak. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 11:30 AM in St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. A calling hour will be from 10:30 until 11:15 AM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. James Church.
