Joy was a joy! It was a privilege to know her, Duane, and Wy in the late 1960s and early 70s. Little did I know we both hailed from Illinois with connections to Aurora. A special, caring woman. Condolences to her family. Gayle Brookfield

Charlene Pilon posted a condolence

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Joy who I have known for almost 20 years. I was always in awe of Joy's energy, positive attitude and love of learning. She was a faithful practitioner of Tai chi and Qigong attending class every week despite the 45 min drive in all kinds of inclement weather. Her love of this practice was evident as she incorporated it into her daily routine. Despite health challenges in the past few years she maintained her can do attitude and stated "I focus on the things I can do, not the things I can't". Inspiring words we can all try to live by. Her love of vegetable gardening was also impressive and she spoke of it fondly especially because it was something she and her son Wyatt worked on together. Joy's generosity was evident as she shared her garden's bounty with her community. The world was a better place with Joy in it. I will miss her. Charlene Pilon
