Jan was a very special woman. I got to know her through her son T, who she loved beyond anything else. When her husband passed, I spent a lot of time with T and helping her in any way I could. During that time, I got to be there for her as well. She relived all her memories with her late husband and we had some laughs and cries and we grew a special bond during that time. I admired her for her strength and compassion and boy was she funny! She loved both her boys so much and anyone who stepped foot in that house she made feel the utmost special. I find comfort in that she can now be with her husband who she loved so dearly and watch over her son, she will be missed.
Rest easy Jan

Jan was the most beautiful human and she could wash over anyone with the most peaceful presence and turn their day into some being hopeful and meaningful. Her vitality was unmatched. I will cherish the moments spent with her, and in the house with T, with Ollie and Mollie.. and all the times Symba gave me a run for my money. I will continue to be an advocate for T and keep alive the devotion she had to ensure inclusivity and compassion for all. She deserves to live on in the hearts of everyone she touched forever and I’m sure she will.

Jan had such a big heart for animals. I didn’t get to know Jan until our paths crossed only a few short years ago. She adopted a NovaStar dog she renamed Ollie that I played a very minor role in helping get to NovaStar. I’ll miss her telling me she can’t figure out her phone to send me a good enough picture although I always thought they were perfectly fine. I’ll miss her sharing all of Ollie’s adventures with me. My prayers are with all of Jan’s family and friends, including the four legged creatures.

June and Terri, I am so sorry to read in the Index about Jan. I remember you girls, Terri, when you were small and we would come over to visit on Rosemont Drive. You were both such precious children and I loved you. Please know that my prayers are with
you and all of the family. Love and heartfelt sympathy, Ann and Sonny Tharpe.
