Obituary of Fannie Louise Snow

Fannie Louise Snow, 85, of Putnam, passed away Sunday December 9th. Born November 12, 1922 in West Greenwich, RI, daughter of Vira and Earl Dodge. Devoted wife of 67 years to Richard E. Snow, Sr. of Putnam, CT. Mother to Richard E. Snow, Jr. of Groton, CT and David D. Snow of Putnam, CT. Cherished grandmother to Tamison, Karen, Melissa, Jon, Josh, Amanda and Laura, and great-grandmother to Zachary, Matthew, Taylor, Mackenzie, Mason and Natalie. Predeceased by sisters Gladys Howard, Mildred Dodge, Doris Fish and brother Le Roy Dodge, all of Rhode Island. Fannie was a homemaker and nature lover. Favoring the outdoors, Fannie loved gardening, bird-watching, boating, and yachting. Raiser of show dogs and registered Shetland ponies, Fannie is one of few who can claim titles both at the Westminster Dog Show and the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden, as her boxer and pony both won first in their class. An avid golfer, Fannie was a past Quinnatisset Ladies Gold Club Champion. She was a supporter of wildlife, veterans, and health causes. There will be no services according to Fannie Snow's wishes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to, the National Parkinson Foundation, American Heart Association, Wounded Warrior's Project, or the ASPCA. Fannie will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends, and through the world of nature she so revered. Arrangements by Smith & Walker Funeral Home, Putnam, CT.
