Obituary of Richard M. Chabot

BROOKLYN - Richard M. Chabot "Dick" 85 formally of Darby Road Brooklyn, CT passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Richard was born in Moosup, the son of
the late Joseph and Frida Racicot Chabot. Richard attended Killingly High School in Danielson, but left school early to help run the family business.
Richard served in the National Guard for five years. He owned and ran the Chabot's Welding & Radiator business for 24 years. During this time, he also was a sub-contractor for numerous local utility companies. Later he sold his business to work full time at Field Concrete Pipe Co., and then Jolly Precast for another 12 years until his official retirement. Richard was a selfless and giving person. He was a jack-of-all-trades and he could fix anything. He was always there to give a helping hand to his family or others. Richard was a well-liked man who loved his family. His encouraging words were, "everyone has to get along. When you get mad, just walk away". While his children were growing up, he had enjoyed family camping. He was also an avid Patriot's fan and a proud supporter of the NRA.
Richard was pre-deceased by his loving wife Phyllis A. Chabot who passed in 2002. He leaves his children Lynne and John Searles of Brooklyn, Michael Chabot of Danielson, Gregg Chabot of Temple New Hampshire, Mark Chabot of Brooklyn and Christopher and Tammy Chabot of Canterbury along with many grand and great grand children. In lieu of flowers, please pray for Peace, and share your Love with others. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Share a memory at www.gagnonandcostellofh.com
