I was very lucky to have had Gordie cross paths with me in the early 90"s. It started out as a business relationship, I became a customer of Windham Container for years in a previous job. I developed a friendship with him during this time. I think he was one of the most genuine people I have known. His personality shined, always had a smile on his face. He had amazing compassion for his family. I admired him and I'm so glad I got to know him.

To the Mauer Family:
My deepest sympathies and condolences. As a coach and athletic director, I was fortunate to know Gordie in his years of service as an official to so many high school players. Whenever you saw Gordie arrive at a game, you knew the game was in good hands. He cared about the players, he had a passion for what he did, and he loved to interact with the coaches. I will miss his smiling face and his caring personality. May your memories of him get you through the difficult days ahead. He was a special person. He will not be forgotten.

It was so sad to learn of his death. I was on the football field with him for over twenty five years. He was a great official, one of the best. It was always a pleasure to do a game with him. He was a great teacher and I learned a lot from him. I really missed his presence since his retirement. Rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Gordie’s passing. Having been a local customer of Gordie’s for the past 23 years I have many a smile to look back on. We frequently emailed each other about the Red Sox and Patriots, trying to predict the seasons. Always easy to recognize an email as he always used the biggest font there is! He also never missed sending me an email on Valentines Day. I will truly miss our banter, and that wonderful sense of humor. Rest In Peace my friend and may God take you under his wing.

Such a wonderful and vibrant man.....I will never forget how he often took his time to ask about my kids and how they were doing beyond school sports. I only hope that his family will find peace in knowing how much Gordie was loved.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Gordie's passing on Monday morning. I knew Gordie for twenty years as a customer. Doing business with him was always a joy. He had good, honest solutions to anything and everything. Early on in our business relationship it was clear that Gordie was as genuine and honest as the day is long and he became a good friend. You could talk with Gordie about anything under the sun. He had a fantastic memory and six months, a year later he'd ask "remember this?" or "how did that work out?" And then there was Gordie humor. It didn't matter what kind of day you were having, when Gordie came to visit the office you were guaranteed a smile when he left. He would joke with you about something all the while trying to hold back a smirk and keep a straight face and give you a look with his eyes that was guaranteed to generate laughs and a smile.
Thank you Gordie for many fond memories. May you rest in peace.
