Obituary of Barbara A. Frederick

Barbara A. Frederick, 91 of Putnam, CT, formerly of New York died Tuesday, November 16, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Frederick, Jr., who died in 1983. She was born April 20, 1931 in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late Stephen and Lillias (Ross) Jones.

Barbara was a secretary for a manufacturing company. She enjoyed playing cards, loved to make people laugh and make them smile. Barbara was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, niece, aunt and friend. She maintained lifelong friendships from her high school years, and made many new friends during her time at Matulaitis. She would always put other people first; she was a caregiver to all.   

A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Matulaitis Nursing Home for all the special care she received.

She leaves her daughters Lauren King and her husband Scott of Danielson, CT and Diane Cunningham and her husband Kevin of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren Cavan King, Ryan King, Ross Cunningham, Sarah Cunningham, Elaine Frederick, Valerie Frederick; siblings Agnes Steitz and her husband John of Summit, NY, Charles Jones and his wife Ann Marie of Peekskill, NY, Stephen Jones and his wife Jennifer of North Las Vegas, NV, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Joseph Frederick, III, siblings Frederick Jones and Lillian Forte.
