Obituary of Virginia M. Pike

Virginia M. Pike, 75, of Hampton passed away on Friday, January 11, at Day Kimball Hospital with her family by her side. She was born May 20, 1932 in Woodstock, daughter of the late William F. and Cora G. (Stevens) Basto. She was the wife of Charles E. Pike, Sr., they were married June 23, 1956 and settled in Hampton to raise a family. She was a former postal carrier for Hampton/Scotland. She also worked as a cook at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn for a number of years. She loves her family, friends and her pets. Besides her husband, she leaves one sister, Della Tucker of Livingston, Montana, five sons: Randy of Wasilla, Alaska, Clarence, Daniel, Charles, Jr. and William, all of Hampton, two daughters, Alice Lee and her husband Raymond of Hampton, Norma, of Hampton, three grandchildren, Kristen, Trevor, Leah one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Abington Congregational Church, Route 97, Abington. Burial at Litchfield Cemetery, Hampton in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army National Headquarters, P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22313 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements by Smith & Walker Funeral Home, Putnam.
