Obituary of Shirley M. Witter-Phaiah

Shirley M. Witter-Phaiah, 90, of East Woodstock died February 20, 2023 at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. Daughter of the late Elton and Inez (Gallegher) Witter, she was born in Southbridge, MA on April 28, 1932.
Shirley attended local schools in Woodstock and she loved to ride horses. She worked as a caretaker for many years. 
She leaves her children Jim Phaiah and his wife Linda of Brooklyn, Glenn Phaiah of Thompson, Douglas Phaiah of Brooklyn, Gina's mother Marie Fafard of Windham, grandchildren Gina Danis and her husband Joel, Pam Marquette and her husband Andy, Xander Phaiah, great grandchildren Paisley and Colby. She was predeceased by her son Alan Scott Phaiah, he died in 1988, her siblings Noni Logee and her husband Albert, Ina Pasay and her husband Keeton and Eugene “Bud” Witter and his wife Barbara.
Calling hours will be Friday, March 3, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 142 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Burial will be in the spring in Central Cemetery, Woodstock, CT. Share a memory at Smithandwalkerfh.com
