Obituary of William Lord

William Lord, 92, died January 14, 2008 at his home in Sunrise, Florida, formerly of West Thompson, CT. He was the husband of the late Yvette Lord, she died in 1985. He was born in Compton, RI, July 15, 1915, son of John A. and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Lord. He was retired from the City Electric System Company in Key West, FL on February 27, 1981. William is survived by daughters Dorothy Fowler (William), Rachael Felgner (Gordon) and sons Gerald Lord (Hope), Brian Lord (Michelle); Grandsons: Ronald Vick; William Fowler Jr. (Cynthia); Philip Lord; Granddaughters: Ronda Vick, Michelle Nies (Rick), Lisa Berger (Gregg); Amanda Lord; Great Granddaughters: Meagen Diaz, Brittany Zawistowski, Samantha Fowler, Katie Zawistowski; Hailey Berger; Great Grandsons: Brandon Diaz, Richard Nies. William was also preceded in death by his Sisters Claire, Lillian and Edna and Brothers Albert, Herbert, Jack, and Louis Lord. William's hobbies were coaching little league baseball, bowling, scuba diving, and traveling. His Funeral Service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. His family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00 PM until time of the service.
