Obituary of Donald L. Ross
Donald Lawrence Ross, age 70, of Dayville, Connecticut, passed away on April 9th, 2023.
Donald passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, a.k.a. Donut Day, his favorite family day.
Born in 1952 to parents Lawrence and Evelyn Ross, Donald has always been surrounded by family. Donald was the second oldest of 12 siblings. He leaves behind siblings Ronnie Ross, Ralph Ross, Billy Ross, Robert Ross, Doreen Ross, Deborah Hankins, Diane Sorel, Donna Taylor, and Darlene Ross, but is reunited with two deceased brothers, Lawrence Ross Jr. and Gary Ross.
Donald has always been passionate about art. He found his livelihood as an auto body technician, which he did throughout the duration of his life. Donald married Brenda Evelyn Maxham, in 1971, and went on to have 4 wonderful children.
They settled on a small farm, which he and Brenda purchased in 1990. He cherished his home, his proudest achievement. Don and Bren’s home has always been filled with his most prized possessions. Never has a day gone by in which Donald was not surrounded by family, friends, children, grand children, or great grandchildren. Their home has always had a revolving door. Any given day, one could stop and enjoy an impromptu cookout, music blasting, and/or a good coffee. Donald loved discussing sawmills, art, antiques, cars, and the videos he stumbled upon on YouTube. Of all the things that one can remember, his wit and sarcasm are what will be most remembered.
Donald leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Brenda Evelyn Ross.
Children - Dawn Owen, Melissa Ross & Devin Pensak, Donald Ross Jr. & Paige Ross, Joseph Ross, and “adopted son” Troy Auclair.

He is now reunited with his parents, siblings, and best friend Douglas “Willis” Bousquet in heaven.
Donald and his family extend a big thank you to his hospice team. Especially to his favorite nurse who could always put a smile on his face, Stacy Barrette.
We will miss his humor and guidance in our lives.
A celebration of life will be held on April 22nd, 2023, from 12 PM - 5 PM, at Donald and Brenda’s home, 340 State Avenue, Dayville, CT.
